1. Philadelphia Eagles

The reigning Super Bowl Champions have fallen upon tough times due to injuries and mistakes, but they have every opportunity to resuscitate their season. At 4-4 the Eagles are second in the dismal NFC East and are only one game behind the Redskins. With a win against their divisional rival Cowboys this weekend, the Eagles could climb into a tie atop the division, depending on what happens in the Redskins game.

Coming off of their bye, the Eagles will be healthy and fresh with a good game plan. Even better, the Cowboys are coming off of a horrible loss to the Tennessee Titans in which they were thoroughly embarrassed. The Eagles should have no trouble repeating what the Titans did as they are a superior team, but maybe the Cowboys will come in looking for a statement game.

If the Eagles win, they will move their record to 5-4 and will have a winning record for the first time since Week 3. Not only would that be a huge boost to the team’s confidence for the stretch run, but it would put them in position to steal the division lead from the Redskins.

Look for Carson Wentz and company to look really good with the extra week of preparation. The Cowboys are not a good team, so this is a perfect time for the Eagles to kick-start a winning streak. A loss, however, would significantly impede their chances of making the playoffs. How will they fare with their backs against the wall?
