The newest version of the AP Top 25 college football rankings have been released, and there was some movement in the Week 12 poll.

We are just a few weeks away from conference championships and the AP Top 25 is a good indicator of who could be ranked high in the Week 12 College Football Playoff rankings.

Though the AP Top 25 is no longer the most important ranking system this late in the season, it’s still a fair comparison to the playoff poll. There was some movement in the newest edition of the poll, and that could be a preview to Tuesday’s playoff rankings release.

Unfortunately for college football fans, there weren’t many premier matchups in Week 11, but that doesn’t mean the action wasn’t exciting.

Alabama faced yet another test against an upset-minded ranked foe, but Mississippi State didn’t stand much of a chance as the Bulldogs, like LSU, were shut out. Ohio State went on the road to take on newfound rival Michigan State, but the Spartans struggled on offense despite a valiant defensive effort and the Buckeyes kept their slim playoff hopes alive, 26-6.

Clemson, too, was able to take down a tougher opponent in Boston College on the road as the Tigers look like they’re going to run the table and sleepwalk into the College Football Playoff.

Let’s take a look at the newest edition of the AP Top 25:

Who were the biggest winners this week? Alabama has to be the biggest winner after proving it’s not going anywhere at the No. 1 spot with another ranked victory. Ohio State, Iowa State and Penn State are also big winners.

How about losers? You have to go with Michigan State and NC State who were both dropped from the polls, but Kentucky suffered a major tumble after losing a home game to Tennessee. The Wildcats were once dark-horse SEC title contenders, but they have struggled of late.

Check back in next week to see how much shuffling the Week 13 poll will experience.
