FanDuel NFL 2018: Week 10 lineup

It’s Week 10 in the NFL season. Who should be in your FanDuel lineup?

If you decided to stack players from the New Orleans Saints or the Kansas City Chiefs, there is a good chance you had a big daily fantasy day. The combination of Drew Brees, Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas totaled 96.14 fantasy points. Meanwhile, Patrick Mahomes, Kareem Hunt and Travis Kelce compiled 85.8 points.

Now, the likelihood of having all three of those players in a lineup isn’t very high because of how expensive all six players are. Nevertheless, they dominated Week 9.

Last week’s lineup exceeded 130 fantasy points for the second week in a row. It was anchored by teammates on the Carolina Panthers; Cam Newton and Christian McCaffrey. The Panthers defeated the Buccaneers 42-28. Newton completed 19 of 25 passes for 247 yards and two scores. For the third consecutive week, Newton has thrown for at least two touchdowns and zero interceptions.

One of his main playmakers on the afternoon was McCaffrey. The second year back carried the ball 17 times for 79 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught five passes for 78 yards and finished with 30.2 fantasy points, third most at the running back position in Week 9.

Another running back who had a solid Week 9 was Cleveland Browns back, Nick Chubb. The rookie carried the ball 22 times for 88 yards and one score. It was the first time this season where the back carried the ball for 20+ times. Fellow running back, Duke Johnson’s performance in the pass game took away from Chubb’s successful day. Johnson caught nine passes for 78 yards and two touchdowns.

Miami’s defense proved to be a smart choice with their Week 9 performance. The unit recorded four sacks and forced four interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown. They held the Jets to 282 yards and only six points. The Dolphins’ defense finished the game with 25 fantasy points, only two points less than the Bears for the most in Week 9.

The wide receivers in Week 9’s lineup didn’t light up the stat sheet. Robert Woods led the way with five receptions for 71 yards. Sammy Watkins also caught five passes but only recorded 62 yards. Tyrell Williams was the only wideout in the lineup to score a touchdown, but caught just two passes for 23 yards.

Lastly, Jordan Reed and Lamar Miller only combined for 11.2 fantasy points.

My Week 10 lineup will only include players that are playing Sunday, minus the Sunday Night football game. Also, the Baltimore Ravens, Denver Broncos, Houston Texans and Minnesota Vikings are on their bye week. All fantasy points discussed are based on FanDuel’s scoring system.

Quarterback: Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints- 31.44

Running back: Karrem Hunt, Kansas City Chiefs- 32.6 & Alvin Kamara, New Orleans Saints- 31.6

Wide Receiver: Michael Thomas, New Orleans Saints- 33.1; Adam Humphries, Tampa Bay Buccaneers- 24.9 & Julio Jones, Atlanta Falcons- 21.6

Tight end: Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs- 25.4

Quarterback: Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints- $8,400

There is no slowing down the New Orleans Saints and Drew Brees, especially in Week 10. Brees threw for 346 yards and a season high four touchdowns against the Los Angeles Rams, handing the Rams their first loss of the season.

He tallied 31.44 fantasy points, the most at the quarterback position in Week 9.

Brees has been extremely efficient this season. He has a completion percentage of 76.3, best in the NFL. In six of the teams eight games, Brees has completed at least 73% of his passes. The veteran quarterback has thrown for 18 touchdowns and only one interception.

This week, Brees and company hit the road to take on the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals have allowed opposing quarterbacks to throw for 2,646 yards, third most in the league. They have surrendered 18 touchdowns, tied for third most. On average, quarterbacks are scoring 24.5 fantasy points per game against the Bengals.

In their last three games, Cincinnati has given up at least 358 passing yards. In two of those contests they have  given up at least three touchdowns.  Expect Brees to have a field day against a weak secondary.
