Alabama. Deionte Thompson. 10. player. 48. . Safety

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a lot of problems, and they extend to both sides of the football. The Jameis Winston Era in Tampa Bay looks to  be over, as they have turned the reins over to Ryan Fitzpatrick, who threw for another 400 yards in a losing effort against the Washington Redskins this past weekend.

Winston was the first overall selection in the 2015 NFL Draft, and the expectation was that he would eventually be a perennial Pro Bowler, leading the Bucs to the playoffs every year. Four years into his career, and he has made more of a name for himself off the field, as the Bucs have become doormats in the NFC South.

When it comes to  the NFC South,  you have to be able to stop the pass, especially when going up against Matt Ryan, Drew Brees, and Cam Newton twice a season. The Buccaneers secondary is getting older, and slower, so it would make sense for them to bring in a player who can improve that position group next April.

The safety position in this draft class is not deep, but there is a couple of players who could go in the first round in 2019. The best of the bunch is Deionte Thompson, who I fully expect to be a top-10 pick, and would instantly improve the safety group in Tampa Bay in year one.
