Andraez Williams. 7. player. 50. . Cornerback. LSU

The Detroit Lions are having a tough season, and as it stands now, they would be picking at No. 7 overall in  the 2019 NFL Draft. Sure, they have a  good quarterback in Matthew Stafford, who continues to put up big numbers, but the  jury is still out on whether or not he is the guy who will eventually lead them back to the playoffs.

Stafford has come under fire as of late by Rich Gannon, who called him a compiler, and not someone who will lead this team to a Super Bowl. While that may be the case, the Lions also have a pretty shoddy defense, especially in the secondary, and they need to address that this offseason.

The 2019 NFL Draft class has a lot of  talent at the cornerback position, and one name that should be called early in round one is Andraez Williams from LSU. Williams has the talent to be a shutdown cornerback at the next level, and the Lions have been lacking one of those for quite some time now.

The NFC North is pretty loaded this season, as the Chicago Bears have taken a major step forward, and the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings are playoff contenders. The Lions, on the other hand, have taken a step in the wrong direction, and need to have a solid offseason to get back in the conversation in the division.
