Fantasy Football: Impactful NFL DFS Injuries: Week 11

With extensive coverage of the National Football League and how it pertains to fantasy sports, information about Fantasy Football Injuries to skill position players is easy to come by.
What’s not so easy to come by is actionable fantasy information regarding injuries to non-skill position players. We’ll be exploring some of the NFL DFS Injuries and how they may help you gain an edge week to week.

Ronald Darby – CB – PHI

The Eagles will be without cornerback, Ronald Darby, this week, as he is out for the year with a torn ACL. Darby suffered this injury last week in the game against Dallas.

Actionable Takeaway: An already injury riddled secondary will get much worse, without Darby this week. Philadelphia’s secondary has lost Darby, Mills, Jones, and McLeod. Sidney Jones will make his return this week, but will be most definitely, less than 100%. The Eagles secondary was nothing impressive to begin with, and I would expect New Orleans to have a field day, offensively. Note that Darby was one of the best Eagles defensive backs this season, with a PFF grade of 70.6.

Terron Armstead – T – Saints

In the same game, the Saints will be without their left tackle, Terron Armstead. Armstead injured his shoulder against the Bengals and is out for three to four weeks.

Actionable Takeaway: Armstead has been a key cog for the Saints offensive line, protecting Brees’ blindside. If the Eagles have any chance of slowing down the Saints offense, it will be via the pass rush. This will be in interesting matchup to watch this Sunday.

Brandon Linder – C – Jaguars

Brandon Linder was carted off with an injury last week against the Colts, and he is now reported as out for the season, with knee surgery.

Actionable Takeaway: Linder was having a fantastic season, grading out as a top five center in football. Jacksonville has already had injuries to multiple lineman, and will now be forced to trot out a makeshift offensive line. Not only is the center’s report with the quarterback important, but the cohesion with the entire offensive line could be in jeopardy. I’ll be looking for the total to stay low in this game.

Max Garcia – C – Broncos

The Broncos will be without Max Garcia this week, as he tore his ACL in Thursday’s practice.

Actionable Takeaway: This is a big loss to one of the better running units in the NFL. The Denver offensive line will now be a shell of it’s former selves, as they have lost Ronald Leary and Matt Paradis earlier this year. I would expect the Broncos to struggle to move the ball offensively.
