The Citadel was a massive underdog against the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday, so they made sure to let everyone know that they scored a touchdown.

No one was expecting The Citadel Bulldogs to do a whole lot against the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday. Alabama has what might be its most talented team ever, and with Nick Saban as their head coach, the Crimson Tide were expected to steamroll The Citadel.

The Bulldogs had other plans.

Early in the second quarter, The Citadel ran another triple option play, with the quarterback tossing the ball off to Dante Smith. Smith found a crease and was somehow able to break free for a touchdown to tie things at 7-7.

Because the Crimson Tide defense has been so unstoppable and kept so many elite teams from scoring touchdowns, The Citadel’s social media team wanted to make sure that everyone knew what just happened.

You have to respect the savagery from The Citadel guys running the Twitter account. Sure, there’s still a minuscule chance that the Bulldogs are actually going to pull off one of the most stunning upsets in college football history, but you have to take the small wins wherever you can.

As for coach Saban, he was probably furious on the sideline. The Crimson Tide defense has so much incredible talent, but even the best defenses can be confused by a triple-option offense.

Expect some halftime adjustments stressing gap integrity for Alabama’s defense, but this should still probably be an easy win for the Crimson Tide.
