The Indiana Pacers will continue their three-game homestand on Saturday night when they will entertain the Atlanta Hawks in Indy.

The Indiana Pacers targeted this three-game homestand as the focal point for changing their fortunes on their home court. So far, they’re off to a good start.

The Pacers (9-6) will look to go 2-0 on this crucial homestand when they entertain the rebuilding Atlanta Hawks tonight in Indianapolis. Opening up the stretch against the Miami Heat, Indiana overcame a struggling night by Victor Oladipo to roll past the Heat 99-91.

In that game, the Pacers used their bench to give them some much-needed juice, scoring 53 of the Pacers 99 points. “We came out with a lot of energy,” said Pacers guard Cory Joseph after the win.

It was a game the Pacers couldn’t afford to drop. Coming into their matchup against Miami, the Pacers had dropped two straight on their home floor and were just 3-3 so far at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Their up-and-down play at home was one of the main reasons why Indiana, predicted to be a dark horse in the East, pointed to this three-game homestand as a way to get back on track in friendlier confines.

After tonight, they’ll wrap up the homestand against the struggling Utah Jazz before heading down to Charlotte on Nov. 21.

While Indiana is trying to get their season on an even keel, the Hawks 2018-19 campaign is just about building for the future. Their future progression took five steps back in Denver, when they put up a listless performance and were blown out of the Pepsi Center 138-93, their worst loss of the season.

Their loss to the Nuggets dropped Atlanta to a miserable 1-8 on the road, and they’ll look for something remotely better in Indianapolis than the effort they put up in the Mile High City.
