The Utah Jazz is not looking so good on their current road trip, and it doesn’t get any easier when they head to Boston to face the Celtics.

After taking the first game of a five-game road trip, the Utah Jazz is now traveling on tumbling waters.

Going into their game tonight against the Boston Celtics, the Jazz (7-8) are now in full salvage mode. It won’t be easy as, after their trip to the resurgent Celtics, the Jazz will finish road jaunt in Indiana.

Utah hung in there against the re-tooled Philadelphia 76ers but ended up dropping that contest 107-113. Overall, the Jazz provided a much-better effort in Philly than they did in Dallas, and Donovan Mitchell was back on point offensively, leading all scorers with 31 points.

But Jimmy Butler was a man not to be stopped and helped drop the Jazz to 1-2 on the road trip.

Now, they’ll face a Celtics (9-6) team that has appeared to find its mojo after a disheartening 1-4 road trip. With a chance to regain their footing with a three-game homestand, the Celtics embraced balanced scoring to take down the Chicago Bulls (111-82) and the East-leading Toronto Raptors (123-116).

In their win over the Raptors on Friday night, Kyrie Irving took over the game late and dropped 43 points and dished out 11 assists to lead Boston to an overtime victory.

“Man, he made some shots tonight where you’re just like, ‘Wow,'” Gordon Hayward said after the game. Hayward contributed 15 points and five rebounds in the win.

Also getting their game back together was Jayson Tatum, who tallied 21 points on 8-13 shooting from the floor. Now, on the final game of their homestand, the Celtics will have the chance to extend Utah’s misery on the road.

The Celtics and Jazz both split victories last season, with Utah winning in Boston.
