The Houston Rockers are surging, and they will have a chance to continue the winning fortunes when the Sacramento Kings come to town.

The Houston Rockets have returned to the style of play that made them the league’s winningest team last season to rescue their 2018-19 campaign.

Houston will look to extend their winning streak to four games, and in the process climb above .500 for the first time this season, when they go head-to-head with the Sacramento Kings on Saturday night.

Buried and left for dead just a couple of weeks ago, the Rockets used a four-game road trip to bring their hopes back to life. Part of their early season struggles was trying to adapt Carmelo Anthony into the offense, but it didn’t work out, and he was released from the team this past week.

Now no longer having to worry about Anthony, the Rockets, led by James Harden and Chris Paul, are back to playing their style of basketball, and getting themselves back into the thick of things in the Western Conference. They kicked off a three-game homestand with a resounding 107-86 victory over the struggling Golden State Warriors and will wrap things up with a home date with the Detroit Pistons on Nov. 20.

The Rockets have had no problems dispatching the Kings (8-7) over the past few seasons, but this is a different Sacramento team that will walk into the Toyota Center tonight.

Their surprising start to the season has been a feel-good story in the NBA, but they have sputtered a bit the past three games, going just 1-2. De’Aaron Fox dropped a double-double (21 points/10 assists) on the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday, but it wasn’t enough as the Kings loss 112-104.
