LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers will make their only visit to Orlando tonight to face the surging Magic, but without Rondo.

Over the course of his career, LeBron James has owned the Orlando Magic. Now, he’ll try to continue his mastery over the Magic as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday night.

Heading into their only visit to Central Florida, the Lakers are playing the best ball of their young NBA season. Winners of six of their last seven games, including a season-best four-game streak, the Purple and Gold will embark on this three-game road trip trying to maintain the winning edge.

While King James has been at his most brilliant, the Lakers are starting to get strong play from the supporting cast. However, they’ll probably have to endure this trip without Rajon Rondo, who is out with a broken hand. That means that Lonzo Ball, who has split the point guard duties with Rondo, will be the man to shepherd this team forward.

James made history on Wednesday night by passing Wilt Chamberlin for fifth all-time on the NBA’s scoring list in a 126-117 win over the Portland Trail Blazers. It was also James’ first 40-point outing in the Purple and Gold, but LeBron wasn’t as concerned about the record, as he was about keeping the Lakers on the winning track.

That will be a bit difficult against the surging Magic, who, after a listless 120-95 showing against the Los Angeles Clippers on Nov. 2, has ripped off a 5-2 streak heading into tonight’s matchup with the Lakers.

Terrance Ross hit the go-ahead three-pointer with seconds left, and Orlando rallied for an impressive 111-106 win over the re-tooled Philadelphia 76ers on their home floor. Ross has been the main engine for the Magic the past four games, averaging 19.3 points per outing and becoming the team’s emotional catalyst.
