High Salary PF

Players costing over $6,250

LeBron James (at MIA – $11,000): Needs 48.8 fantasy points. James was down to 39.5 fantasy points against the Magic on Saturday. As I’ve been saying this season, I’ll never go against LeBron, but the energy is weird in Los Angeles and he’s always been one to coast in the regular season. The Heat can be a tough matchup, and if LeBron has some tired legs, I don’t exactly like him at this salary. He needs a big game and the big games are getting few and further between this season. Diagnosis: Lakers LeBron is just weird. But it’s still LeBron.

Kevin Durant (at SA – $10,700): Needs 47.4 fantasy points. Durant had 41.5 fantasy points against the Mavericks on Saturday. Durant will always get his points when Curry is out of the lineup, but he needs to do more in order to justify the salary. He’s a better bet than LeBron just because the scoring numbers are going to be better and he runs more of the show, but like the Lakers, there’s a weird energy around the Warriors right now. Diagnosis: Typically reliable and high ceiling, but I can’t figure out the Warriors at the moment.

LaMarcus Aldridge (vs GS – $8,000): Needs 36.6 fantasy points. I still don’t know what’s up with Aldridge when it comes to his scoring. He’s been held under 15 points in five of his last six games. That’s just….baffling. The rebounds have been there, which is a good sign for his overall value, but he really needs those points to make him worth your while. With all their injuries and no JaVale McGee, the Warriors would be a good matchup. Diagnosis: Slight risk based on how he’s been shooting. But at least he’s rebounding very well.
