The Los Angeles Lakers look like another team transformed and the addition of Tyson Chandler seems to have been a turning point. The Lakers are 5-1 since he joined the team and are allowing an absurdly low 94.3 points per 100 possessions in the 21.7 minutes per game that he’s been on the floor. As important as he’s been to their defense, the way he seems to have revitalized LeBron James may be even more important.

LeBron exploded for 51 points against the Heat over the weekend and has been averaging 32.0 points, 7.8 rebounds and 5.7 assists over the past six games, shooting 54.7 percent from the field and 52.3 on 3-pointers. Whatever bad juju accumulated over their difficult start to the season appears to have melted away and they’re building momentum.
