The NFL Thanksgiving tradition is great, but it’s something that creates a bit of a headache for fantasy football owners. We are forced to make a lot of important decisions much earlier in the week.

This week the Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears, Washington Redskins, Dallas Cowboys, Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints all play on Thanksgiving Day. The Bears are facing a very quick turn around after playing Sunday night.

Mitch Trubisky is still a start for me, but there’s some concern here. Matt Nagy and his offense have found much of its success thanks to strong game planning. They have always come out on the first drive and found success.

This is because Nagy likes to script the first drive which makes things easier on a young quarterback like Trubisky.

It’s going to be very hard to install a complete game plan and script the first drive of the game in just three days. We could see a very simplified plan of attack which could limit the fantasy upside of the entire Bears offense.

Luckily, they are facing a Detroit Lions defense that is at best middle of the road.

The two teams on bye will have a major impact on the fantasy football world. Both the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Rams have tons of players who are counted on each week. It’ll be interesting to see how owners replace Patrick Mahomes.

He has been such a difference maker in fantasy football that having him on the bench for one week is painful.
