Is Gamestop open on Black Friday?

GameStop will be a port of call for many of you on Black Friday, so here’s all the information you’ll need about the store’s Black Friday opening times and offers.

Once you’ve eaten the Thanksgiving roast and caught up with the rest of the family, your thoughts may well turn to your Black Friday schedule – and GameStop is very likely to feature on it.

GameStop will open its doors even earlier on this Thanksgiving Day – 3:00 p.m., aside from locations where local laws prohibit it – and they’ll be staying open right through until 10:00 p.m. Please be aware, though, that GameStop’s full Black Friday deals won’t be revealed by the store until 6:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, so not all of the offers will be available earlier on that day. Then, on Black Friday itself GameStop outlets will be open at 7:00 a.m. and again won’t close before 10:00 p.m. Although those long Thanksgiving Day hours might reduce the crush on Black Friday slightly, you still shouldn’t expect to walk in and just stroll right up to the counter.

For those of you who are unable or unwilling to make it into GameStop on Black Friday itself, there are still a couple of possible options for you. Deals will also be available in-store on Saturday, Nov. 24 and Sunday, Nov. 25, when GameStop outlets will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. In addition, you can also access GameStop’s Black Friday offers online over the holiday period, with the added benefit that games are far less likely to sell out online.

While there are new offers that won’t be announced until Thanksgiving, some of the deals already revealed by GameStop have generated a lot of excitement. They include a PlayStation 4/Spider-Man bundle for $199.99 (a reduction of $100 on the usual price), an Xbox One S/NBA 2K19 bundle at $159.99, and a free $50 GameStop gift card when you buy a new Nintendo Switch, Xbox One or PS4 console. And these deals don’t just offer a great opportunity for instant gratification – they’re ideal for picking up Christmas gifts at low prices as well.

Please be warned, though, that it’s always worthwhile to check the hours for each individual outlet, in particular those situated in shopping malls, as in some instances the mall itself won’t open until later in the day. Nonetheless, the vast majority of U.S. malls will be opening early on Black Friday.

Finally, those of you planning to visit GameStop during Black Friday should also bear in mind that although its stores open at 7:00 a.m., lines are certain to form long before then. So be prepared to queue if you turn up around the official opening time.
