The Foxes currently sit in 10th, while the Seagulls are two spots below them in 12th. Only three points separate the two teams, meaning that this game is extremely important in terms of positioning in the table for both sides.
Leicester enter Saturday’s game with a three game unbeaten streak, including an emotional win at Cardiff following the tragic death of their chairman. With 17 points so far, a win could move them as high as sixth, given the current table. The Foxes aren’t exactly at the same heights they were a few seasons ago, when they won the Premier League and qualified for the Champions League for the first time in club history. Still, if they’re able to string some wins together and play a solid game over the rest of the season, qualifying for European soccer is still an attainable goal. For a team and a city that has been through as much as they have, doing so would be extremely positive.
Expected to be among the minnows of the league before the start of the season, Brighton have gotten off to a somewhat surprising start this year. Winning Saturday’s game against Leicester could put them in the top half of the table, something even the most ambitious and optimistic of fans may not have considered a real possibility. Brighton have only suffered defeat in one home game this season, a 2-1 loss to Spurs in late September. The AmEx has proven to be a difficult place for visiting teams this season, and it could very well be hard for Leicester to leave it with a win on Saturday.

Leicester was successful against Brighton in both of their meetings last season. The first came in August of 2017, where the Foxes were victorious by a score of 2-0 at the King Power Stadium. Leicester would win the second meeting by the same score in late March at the AmEx.
