NBA Power Rankings: Who is headed for rock bottom?
By Ian Levy
The Pistons have a profile that makes it difficult to assess their likely future as the regular season unfolds. Their record is healthy, they have the 10th-best win percentage in the league and they’re currently holding the No. 5 seed in the Eastern Conference. But their point differential is just barely positive and only the 14th-best in the league. Their record is buoyed by one of the best clutch differentials in the league, something that’s not usually a recipe for sustained success.
More consistent outside shooting could really help make things easier for Andre Drummond and Blake Griffin in the middle. Luke Kennard is likely out a few more weeks and could really help when he returns. If Detroit could find another consistent shooter in the trade market or the G League it could really change their fortunes midseason.
