LeGarrette Blount, Detroit Lions vs. Los Angeles Rams

Somewhat surprisingly, the Los Angeles Rams have a major weakness when it comes to defending the run, and the Detroit Lions must take full advantage of that in Week 13 if they have any hopes of pulling off an upset against Sean McVay and Co.

Kerryon Johnson was ruled out with a knee injury for a second straight week, opening up another prime opportunity for LeGarrette Blount to thrive on the ground.

Blount, who worked with Lions head coach Matt Patricia in New England, remains an effective running back at the age of 31. Far from a plodder, Blount looked at his best in Johnson’s place last week, roasting a tough Chicago Bears defense on the ground with 88 yards on 19 attempts. His two rushing touchdowns paced the Lions offense, and they showed that Blount is still an effective touchdown-scoring threat in fantasy.

Going into Week 13, Blount is a must-start, and he looks likely to build on his five rushing touchdowns this season. The Rams defense allows a ghastly 5.2 yards per carry and nearly 120 rushing yards per game, and while this matchup could become a shootout, Blount’s ability to score touchdowns alone makes him an attractive starting option.
