The North Carolina Tar Heels welcome the UNC-Wilmington Seahawks to Chapel Hill on Wednesday as the 14th-ranked Heels look to find their footing.

The North Carolina Tar Heels have been somewhat all over the place to start the 2018-19 college basketball season. At times, their obvious talent has shined as they’ve been dominant. Then, in other moments, they’ve looked overwhelmed against teams that they should at least compete with. They’ll be trying to remedy that as they take on the UNC-Wilmington Seahawks on Wednesday in Chapel Hill.

Luke Maye has been struggling for the Tar Heels this season, which has been an issue. Making that even more glaring is star freshman forward Nassir Little still coming off of the bench. While taking Maye out might not be the answer, getting Little into the starting lineup and maybe playing small seems like the right move for Roy Williams to make.

Even without that, though, freshman guard Coby White has looked like a possible star while veteran guys like Cam Johnson and Seventh Woods have started to come on as of late. If North Carolina can start to figure out their rotations better, the talent is there for them to be one of the best teams in the country.

UNC-Wilmington can’t match the top-to-bottom talent of North Carolina, in truth. However, the Heels have struggled with big men thus far this season and Seahawks forward Devontae Cacok is one of the most talented mid-major players in the country, averaging a 15-12 double-double this season to this point. If UNCW is going to pull off an upset, he’ll be a key part as to why.

Though the Tar Heels have had their ups and downs already this season and can have some issues with size, North Carolina should handle UNC-Wilmington on Wednesday night. Crazier things have happened, of course, but the athleticism overall and the talent of the Heels should be too much for the Seahawks.
