Welcome to NHL DFS Man Advantage for Thursday night December 6th! Tonight we have another massive slate with 11 games on tap for tonight.

For those who aren’t too familiar how the NHL DFS schedule works, we get massive slates like this on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays generally. We get smaller slates the rest of the week, that’s why you saw 3 game slates on Monday and Wednesday night this week, but 10 and 11 game slates on Tuesday and Thursday respectively.

Looking at the projected goal totals for tonight’s games, 8 of the 11 have totals 6 goals or more, with Pittsburgh and the Islanders, and Montreal in Ottawa having 6.5 goal totals. As far as goaltending goes, I am looking to a couple of old ‘reliables’ and a goalie trying to get back to his former great self.

NHL DFS Goalies:

My top goalies is one of my favorites to use, Pekka Rinne ($8.4K). Rinne gets a matchup on the road with Vancouver. Rinne has won 2 straight starts allowing only 3 goals in those two games and comes into this game sporting a .935 SV% and 1.81 GAA on the season. Vancouver comes into this game losing 12 of 13 games averaging 2.07 goals per game during this stretch.

Marc-Andre Fleury ($8.3K) is the second goalie I’m interested in tonight against the Blackhawks on the second night of a back to back. Fleury has won 4 of his last 5 starts and allowed only 9 goals in the 4 wins.

Lastly, I am going with Jonathan Quick ($7.5K) at home against the Devils. While Quick has only won once in his last 5  starts, he is only allowing 2.6 GPG over his last 5. It seems to be more of a goal scoring issue for L.A. as opposed to a goalies issue.

NHL DFS Top Individual Plays

High Tier:

Auston Matthews ($8.3K) – Since his return from injury 3 games ago Matthews has been on fire. In the 3 games since returning from injury Matthews has 5 goals and 2 assists.

Cam Atkinson ($7.3K) – Atkinson is up to 11 straight games with a point now after his hat trick on Tuesday night in the Jackets 9-6 loss. On the season Atkinson is up to 19 goals and 11 assists.

John Carlson ($6.8K) – It has been well over a month since Carlson has scored a goal, but he has been collecting assists with 7 assists over the last 5 games. Carlson is the Caps top D man and PP option logging 25 minutes TOI per game.

MId Tier:

Claude Giroux ($6.4K) – Giroux has been playing pretty well of late with 2 goals and 4 assists. Also during the last 5 games Giroux has been averaging 4.8 FPPG playing alongside Sean Couturier and Travis Konecny

Jonathan Huberdeau ($6.2K) – Huberdeau has been on quite the tear of late racking up 16 points over the last 8 games. This offensive explosion has Huberdeau up to 31 points in 26 games this season and his him looking to easily surpass his career high 69 points from last season. Also, Huberdeau and line mates Aleksander Barkov and Mike Hoffman make for a nice line stack tonight.

Anze Kopitar ($5.2K) – L.A. has been having a miserable year and the lack of scoring has kept Kopitar’s price down. Kopitar is the best player on this team still and a matchup against a bad Devils team could be a spot to take advantage of his low price tonight.

Value Tier:

Jesper Bratt ($4.3K) – Bratt has been moved up to the top line with Taylor Hall and Nico Hischier and the change has done wonders for his fantasy value. Over his last 4 games on the top line Bratt has 2 goals and 2 assists adding up to an average of 4.25 FPPG.

Alec Martinez ($4.1K) – Martinez has goals in back to back games after only scoring once in the first 26 games.

T.J. Brodie ($3.5K) – Brodie has 5 points (2 goals 3 assists) in his last 5 games after only scoring 7 points in his first 23 games on the season. Brodie is not a huge point producer generally with his career high of 45 coming 4 seasons ago.

Florida 2 : Frank VatranoJared McCann – Evgenii Dadonov – This is a good value line that has been playing well of late and also gives you exposure to both of Floridas PP units.

Montreal 1 : Jonathan DrouinMax DomiAndrew Shaw – Montreal has a nice matchup with Ottawa that is projected at 6.5 goals. This line should factor in to the scoring.

Minnesota 1 : Jason ZuckerEric StaalMikael Granlund Minnesota has a potential matchup with Mike Smith. If Smith plays, fire this line up!
