Guardiola’s side is exactly where Sarri wants his side to be. They are getting there, but have a long, long way to go. And the last team Sarri would want to face in the middle of a identity crisis, is the efficient and beautiful Manchester City.
Despite looking back to their best with a heavily rotated squad against wolves, Chelsea lost their way and eventually the match. After being much the better side for most of the match, Chelsea were sucker punched by Wolves, but they were the chief architects of their own downfall with some sloppy play, the antithesis to Sarriball.
Chelsea cannot be anything but their fluent best against City, and will also need the Bridge to be rocking. The race for the Premier League title and the top four is really heating up, Chelsea have to do whatever it takes to make sure they don’t lose ground. Manchester City too have to make sure they don’t allow Liverpool to close ground on them.
