Things got a little chippy between the Green Bay Packers and Atlanta Falcons on Sunday after a borderline hit on quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

A week after firing their head coach, the Green Bay Packers absolutely dominated the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. It was pretty clear that the team had a lot of energy during the game, and they weren’t about to let anyone take shots at their starting quarterback.

With time winding down in the first half of Sunday’s game, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers avoided pressure and took off downfield. Just as he was sliding, Rodgers took a big shot (albeit legal) from Falcons defender Jordan Poole.

Immediately after the hit, some of Rodgers’ teammates took exception to it, and a scuffle started to break out. You can watch a video of the altercation between the two teams below.

Despite the tough hit, Rodgers got his revenge throughout the entire game. In fact, the 35-year-old quarterback even broke Tom Brady’s record of consecutive passes without an interception with 359. That record was broken on this beautiful touchdown throw to Randall Cobb.

That touchdown put the Packers up 27-7 in what was an absolutely dominant outing from the Packers. Just like in that altercation, you could tell that the Packers had more energy in this game than they’ve arguably had for the past month or so.

The Packers may not be going to the playoffs (barring a miracle), but a game like this shows that this team isn’t ready to give up quite yet.
