Stats: four receptions, 80 yards on eight targets

The Carolina Panthers are in a bit of a tailspin at the moment. They have lost their last five games and now find themselves on the outside looking in of the playoff race. Carolina will need to finish strong and get some help if they hope to reach the post season.

One player who has stepped up his game in recent weeks is Curtis Samuel. The shifty wide receiver is seeing more targets and providing a spark.

Samuel has always had tremendous talent and playmaking ability. He’s an explosive athlete who can create with the ball in his hands. However, his career has been hampered by injuries which has stunted his development.

That has change some over the past few games. In just the past two weeks Samuel has 10 catches for 168 yards.

The Panthers have some favorable matchups down the stretch as far as fantasy football is concerned. They face the New Orleans Saints twice and the Atlanta Falcons. Both teams have issues on defense that someone like Samuel can exploit.

New Orleans and Atlanta also have high scoring offenses that will force the Panthers to open up their own attack. This is all good news for someone like Samuel.
