Mains Mavericks – Week 15 DraftKings NFL GPP Salary Savers
Main’s Mavericks is providing weekly Draftkings NFL DFS GPP contest advice by searching out low-salary, boom-or-bust plays destined to outperform value. As a general rule for this article, I target players below $5,000. My goal is to pick value plays who I believe can exceed 4-5 times their value (EX: $5,000 player x 4 = 20DK Pts). I will be using all of my picks in Week 15 DraftKings NFL GPP tournaments as boom-or-bust punt options. Saving on these volatile players will allow you to pay-up for superstars when building that Week 15 DraftKings NFL $1,000,000 lineup.
Week 14 was very profitable for the Mains Mavericks faithful. If you need a refresher, you can check out my week 14 article here.
Week 15 DraftKings NFL DFS GPP Salary Savers
Nick Mullens 4,800 vs SEA
Mullens has put together two straight 20+ DraftKings point efforts. Yet no one, including DraftKings, is giving this kid any credit. Mullens stat lines are 414/2/1 and 332/2/1 in his last two games. On of those games was against Seattle in week 13. Mullens is going up against one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL on short rest. Do not kid yourself just because Seattle shamed Kirk Cousins Monday night at home, that Seattle is a top defense. They are bad, and even worse on the road. Seattle held Mullens to 414 yards at home a couple weeks ago. Play this kid and bet the farm on the over (59 total points 2 weeks ago).
Gus Edward 4,400 vs TBB
Gus Bus is the perfect man to throw out against the lean mean puss rush machine that is the Tampa Bay front 7. Tampa Bay defenders will be fearful for their lives when an F-250 lumbers past the line of scrimmage. “We have nothing to play for” will be the battle cries heard as Tampa Bay defenders fall to their knees pretending to get held. Exploit this mismatch.
Jordan Howard 3,800 vs GBP
Howard quietly put up some really nice numbers against the LA Rams on Sunday night. 19 rushes for 101 yards and he added a reception. Game flow was a big reason for his resurgence, but surprise, it is going to be cold in Chicago again this week. That lends itself to a healthy dose of Jordan Howard in a solid match up against a Packers team that could be without DT Kenny Clark.

Kenny Stills 4,300 @ MIN
I may be a week late in recommending Stills, but I still like the play assuming Ryan Tannehill is close to 100% (he left the game with an ankle injury and returned to throw that hook and ladder game winner vs NE). Stills was magnificent in week 14, finishing with 30.5 DK points on 8 catches. Stills finally looks healthy after missing time with a groin injury. I can always get on board with a Tannehill stack.
Seth Roberts 3,700 @ CIN
It is no coincidence that Oakland Raiders players are undervalued on DraftKings. It can be a goldmine for value if you know where to look. Seth Roberts has 13 targets over his past two games and is becoming an integral part in this offense. The only WR that plays more snaps than Roberts is Nelson. Cincy has really struggled against the slot this year, so I am expecting a big game from Roberts.
Vernon Davis 3,200 @ JAX
The TE pool is very thin this week. Davis is a solid plug and play. After Reed left the game in the first quarter, Davis stepped in a played almost 80% of the snaps. The veteran finished with 4 catches and 31 yards. I do not care who plays QB for the Redskins this weekend, backup QBs love easy throws to a big target. Davis will get his looks.
