For as good as the Clippers have been this season, for as much fun as it has been to watch their surprising surge the most fun thing about this team might be how much is unknown about their future. Danilo Gallinari has one more year on his deal. Key players like Milos Teodosic, Patrick Beverley, Tobias Harris, Luc Mbah A Moute, Marcin Gortat and Boban Marjanovic could all come off the books this summer, or be brought back.

There are myriad approaches the Clippers could take. Try and hold this core together with a few tweaks at the edges, maintaining financial flexibility and hoping Tobias Harris can maintain, essentially becoming the Indiana Pacers. They could really clean house and focus on building for a slightly more distant future around Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Or, they could push all their chips to the middle of the table chasing Kevin Durant and Kawhi Leonard this summer and try to make the leap immediately. With the Clippers everything is in play and everything sounds appealing.
