High Value SG

Players costing $6,667 or under

Buddy Hield (vs OKC – $6,400): Needs 26.6 fantasy points. All of the Kings starters did a bunch of nothing on Dec. 17 against the Timberwolves. But Hield did manage 23.7 fantasy points in 18 minutes. And now he gets to face the Thunder, a team he typically plays fairly well against. He had 32.8 fantasy points against the Thunder on Nov. 19. Expect a bounce-back performance from Hield on Wednesday. Diagnosis: Proven matchup and a good ceiling.

Marcus Smart (vs PHO – $5,200): Needs 21.6 fantasy points. Smart was up to 42.1 fantasy points against the Pistons on Dec. 15. He does a bit of everything and you know he’s going to come up with steals. He’ll hound Booker on Wednesday and come up with a few steals will also chipping in defensively. And if he’s now a shooter, look out. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

Terrence Ross (vs SA – $5,100): Needs 21.2 fantasy points. Ross had 28.6 fantasy points against the Jazz on Dec. 15. He gets his shots and against the Spurs defense, I’ll trust him to get buckets. He’s a high ceiling guy who gets solid minutes, but his value is largely tied to his scoring. I like the matchup for him on Wednesday. Diagnosis: Good ceiling and matchup.

Quick Hits

Delon Wright ($3,900): If he starts due to the injuries to Lowry and VanVleet, take him with confidence.
