Texas A&M is piecing together one of their best recruiting classes ever thanks to Jimbo Fisher. Find out who is expected to be the first of the juggernaut class to sign.

The Aggies’ new $100 million asset, Jimbo Fisher, was brought on to do two things: Get the train back on the tracks and recruit high-caliber players. Fisher was hugely successful in the recruiting department, giving A&M the third-ranked class of 2019 according to 247Sports. While their 2018 record was an improvement on 2017, Texas A&M will be waiting another year to make a playoff run.

A pair of five-star linemen are the headliners of Fisher’s first full class with the Aggies. Kenyon Green (Humble, TX) and DeMarvin Leal (Converse, TX) will soon be household names in College Station. Green is the top-ranked prospect out of the state of Texas and will provide much-needed protection to an offensive line that gave up 35 sacks in 2018, good enough for 112th in the nation. Leal, on the other hand, will be adding depth to an elite defensive front that only allowed 92 rushing yards per contest, second only to Michigan State.

Two A&M starters from the defensive line are expected to be drafted in 2019, leaving big gaps for the recruiting class to fill. Fortunately, they won’t have to wait long to see who will be stepping up, as nearly the entire 2019 recruiting class is expected to sign early.

Among those are eight four-star recruits, three of which are providing help to a defensive backfield that allowed 262 passing yards per game which ranked 109th in 2018.

Though the Aggies are playing on New Year’s Eve, the 12th Man can’t help but feel disappointed with the average 2018 season. Since 2008, Texas A&M has finished at 8-5 or 9-4 five times (they currently sit at 8-4) and are holders of a three-year bowl losing streak.

Fisher crafted one of the most improved and impressive classes of 2018, moving up 14 spots from last season, and looks to turn the Aggies into a 10-win powerhouse in 2019.
