Defense/Special Teams

Chicago Bears @ San Francisco 49ers – $3500

No surprise here. The Chicago Bears defense has been the best unit in the NFL this season. Now they get a 49ers offense with their third-string quarterback and fourth string running back. Chicago is still playing for playoff seeding so they are not in coast mode just yet. San Francisco should be better fantasy wise though because they have a solid offensive line and great play calling. This is not as much of a slam dunk play as it may seem.

Indianapolis Colts vs New York Giants – $3300

This is a tough week for defenses. Despite the Colts shutting out the Cowboys a week ago; is this defense a trustworthy bunch? New York, their opponent this week, can score with playmakers all over the field. It is not like there are stars on the Colts unit that can take over the game. Rookie linebacker Darius Leonard has been great but there may not be another player that can keep up with a shockingly potent Giants offense at times.

Value Defense/Special Teams

New England Patriots vs Buffalo Bills – $2500

New England is at the point in the season where everyone questions how good they are. Expect an answer Sunday in the form of a dominant performance against Buffalo. New England’s defense was able to hold Pittsburgh to 17 points on the road a week ago. Now they get Josh Allen and the Bills offense who might have to signs guys off the street to play running back and are featuring an undrafted rookie at wide receiver. Belichick and company will bottle up Allen’s rushing and force him to beat them through the air, a challenge the rookie is not ready for just yet.

New York Jets vs Green Bay Packers – $2200

This Jets defense making the list is based on one thing only. If Aaron Rodgers plays on Sunday, the Jets should not be a defense in your lineup. However, if he misses the game, which is increasingly likely, the Jets have to get the nod for a value play. Deshone Kizer is a capable backup but the offense has looked lost whenever Rodgers is out. Kizer is also turnover prone against Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams and company. One thing we know about the Jets is that they are not the type of team that has given up. That is good news for anyone who throws them in their lineup Sunday.
