FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – December 21, 2018
High Value SF
Players costing $6,667 or under
Rudy Gay (vs MIN – $6,500): Needs 27 fantasy points. Gay has been a big reason for the Spurs dominating teams as of late. I think this game will be close, which bodes well for Gay’s value. He still remains at a good salary and has shown that he can at least hit value in limited minutes. But a close game means more minutes and is great for his production. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling if the game is as close as I think it’ll be.
Robert Covington (at SA – $6,200): Needs 25.8 fantasy points. One reason why I think this game will be close is the play of Covington. He had 37.2 fantasy points against the Pistons on Dec. 19. He’s looking more like himself following the injury and his minutes are up. He does a bit of everything and had 39.3 fantasy points against the Spurs on Nov. 28. He’s proven that he can deliver as long as the minutes are there. Diagnosis: Love his game and the matchup. High ceiling player.
Joe Harris (vs IND – $4,500): Needs 18.7 fantasy points. Harris was down to 18.8 fantasy points against the Bulls on Dec. 19. I’m not too concerned. He still gets plenty of minutes and opportunities. And I love his overall game. With this matchup, he’s going to find little ways to chip in and at least get you value. He’s a nice low-cost option to spend elsewhere. Diagnosis: Low-cost, reliable, good ceiling.
