Chelsea face Leicester at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, Dec. 22. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

Chelsea have built momentum again following their dour performance against Wolves a few weeks ago. In the midst of it all was a victory against Manchester City, and a midweek win against Bournemouth that saw them progress to the semifinals of the Carabao Cup.

With the amount of scrutiny clubs receive these days, it seems as if Chelsea are never too far from a ‘crisis.’ The term is overused though. Maurizio Sarri had been saying all season long that Chelsea have a lot to improve on and that they were not in contention for the title. He has urged patience, but their start to the season exceeded expectations and brought a lot of attention and debate.

But Chelsea are still doing well. They’re in fourth, and have a run of decent fixtures coming up that will allow them to continue staying competitive at the top. They face a Leicester side struggling for form, winless in four games now.

The big concern for Leicester is the lack of edge they show without Jamie Vardy. They will have felt hard done by their losses to Crystal Palace and Manchester City, but the lack of real cutting edge is there for everyone to see. They’re squad is good enough to remain in the top half of the table, but if they are to push for the European spots, they need to turn up their performances sooner rather than later, or they will be in danger of being left behind.

Leicester have tried to remain competitive in the big matches, but Claude Puel’s conservatism has often led to them losing games they could have sneaked a result in. With everything that the club has had to deal with in recent weeks, however, the strength and unity they have shown is applaudable and should truly be commended.
