For those of us who enjoy lounging on the couch on Christmas Eve and having food delivered, you’re in luck: UberEats and GrubHub are available!

Ordering takeout on Christmas Eve was always something done when the oven broke, leaving the turkey to spoil while frantic parents tried to salvage the holiday meal. That’s all over now as food delivery services aim to bring the food to you and you don’t even have to leave the comfort of your house!

Industrious people who enjoy working for themselves came up with the idea of delivery services that can bring you anything you want, at any time of day, provided that the restaurant is open for business. Companies like UberEats, GrubHub and Postmates are available on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day because there are always people out there who need food delivered, holiday or not.

Food delivery is also a fantastic option when you’re staying with the in-laws and you’re up late after everyone has gone to sleep and you’re still hungry. Just sayin’.

Your food delivery options are limited on Christmas Eve as restaurants close early so that employees can spend the holidays with family and friends. Chinese food restaurants tend to remain open, as do McDonald’s locations (for part of the day, at least). You can count on Jack in the Box and 7-11 too. In spite of all the places that are closed late at night, it’s actually pretty amazing how many options are available on Christmas Eve.

Keep in mind that Christmas Eve will be busy for delivery service drivers, as many drivers won’t be working on the holiday, so order early and allow a decent chunk of time for your food to arrive. But hey, at least the food will arrive and you didn’t have to go out! That’s a gift in itself!
