Stay in your pajamas all day on Christmas, don’t leave the house and don’t bother cooking because you can have food delivered to your door with UberEats!

The past few years have seen quite a bit of innovation when it comes to food delivery services like UberEats and GrubHub as companies have found the sweet spot between people who want to earn money on their own time and people who are willing to pay to have food delivered to them. That’s a great thing for people who would like to have food delivered on Christmas Day!

Ordering takeout on Christmas Day was a punchline for the beloved holiday movie A Christmas Story when the neighbor’s dogs broke in and devoured the family’s turkey ahead of dinner. Eating at a Chinese food restaurant was a last resort because no one was open on Christmas Day, but now not only can you eat out, but you can have all the takeout you want delivered right to your door.

While food delivery services will indeed be available on Christmas, it’s important to note that restaurant options decline after restaurants start shutting down on Christmas Eve. Places like McDonald’s, Jack in the Box and IHOP will be available for you, as well as a bevy of Chinese food and pho shops that stay open on holidays.

It’s also worth noting that there will be fewer drivers available over the holiday, so if you’re in a big city you might find that delivery takes a bit longer than usual. But hey, that’s better than being out in the crowds yourself, right?

dark. Next. Does mail get delivered on Christmas Eve?

Ordering takeout on Christmas is a great option for people who can’t travel home to be with family, or for people who don’t celebrate the holiday who don’t feel like leaving the couch. It’s even a great option for sneaky family members who conspire to order some burgers after Aunt Margaret’s drier than heck turkey. Whatever your situation is, go order that takeout on Christmas and enjoy it!
