We normally shirk the trope of assigning New Year’s resolutions to teams here at Fastbreak Breakfast, so on a new episode we avoid them BUT we have some strongly worded suggestions for coaches that need to be giving more playing time to some deserving players (re: Montrezl Harrell). Will you agree with our selections? Who did we leave out?

In addition, we address the following topics:

  • Is it still fair to still call it a 14-team race for Western Conference playoff position? Which teams are losing grip of the rope?
  • Has lottery reform already had a mild effect of creating more “middle class” teams than previous seasons?
  • Even if James Harden keeps putting up monstrous lines why do we think a repeat MVP award is a long-shot at best?
  • Who are the most entertaining players in the NBA currently?
  • What grade would you give to the coaching job Brett Brown is doing in Philadelphia?
  • Would Ben Simmons be thriving on a roster more like the one Giannis Antetokounmpo has on the Bucks?
  • Is it weird for a part-time babysitter to give your kids Christmas presents, and how much does that mean you have to tip them?

And if you have to set a resolution for yourself this New Year’s, let’s keep it simple: “more breakfast.”

Fastbreak Breakfast is a podcast for serious NBA fans that is incredibly not serious. All episodes are available on Apple Podcasts and Soundcloud or any other major podcast service.
