DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – December 30, 2018
High Value PG
Players costing $6,250 or under
Tyler Johnson (vs MIN – $5,400): Needs 24.8 fantasy points. Johnson’s salary has dropped to good level given his usual production. He’s still a strong option off the bench for the Heat as he gets plenty of opportunities to run the offense. And it’s the Timberwolves. They are a mess right now and even worse at home. And if Rose doesn’t play, their bench takes a hit. Johnson is reliable if nothing else. Diagnosis: Reliable, good ceiling, solid matchup.
J.J. Barea (vs OKC – $4,800): Needs 22 fantasy points. Barea was down to 13.75 fantasy points against the Pelicans on Dec. 28. His minutes continue to be a concern, but this is typically his matchup. He had 34.75 fantasy points against the Thunder on Nov. 10. He always seems to hurt them coming off the bench and until I see OKC stop him, I’ll ride him with him. Diagnosis: Inconsistent due to minutes, but proven matchup and a high ceiling.
Dwyane Wade (vs MIN – $4,600): Needs 21.1 fantasy points. The minutes continue to be there for Wade and he typically does enough to at least get you value. The matchup is good because the Timberwolves are bad. The best news is that Wade’s salary has gone way down, making him easier to fit into your lineup. Given his usual production, this should be a good outing for Wade. Diagnosis: Same as Tyler Johnson. Ceiling probably not quite as high, but his salary makes up the difference.
