1. Josh McDaniels

Last offseason Josh McDaniels was on the precipice of becoming the next head coach of the Indianapolis Colts. Then, all of a sudden, he was back in New England playing second fiddle to Bill Belichick for another season. It may be time for McDaniels to finally leave the nest again even though his first few attempts failed.

His short stint as head coach of the Denver Broncos ended with him being let go. He landed in Saint Louis as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach before heading back home to New England. With perhaps another opportunity to be a head coach, McDaniels probably shouldn’t pass it up. Especially considering the job would be in Green Bay with Aaron Rodgers.

Who knows, maybe McDaniels is guaranteed the keys to the castle in New England after Belichick retires and he just needs to bide his time. But when is that time going to come, and can anyone even trust Robert Kraft? The smart move would be to just secure the job in Green Bay should the Packers come calling.

McDaniels is a prized commodity due to his experience with one of, if not, the most successful franchises in the history of the NFL. Working with Belichick and Tom Brady is valuable, and other franchises are willing to get a piece of that tandem should the opportunity present itself. McDaniels may not have the head coaching experience that the other candidates have, but he knows what success at the highest level looks like.
