Boxing in 2018 was enigmatic and full of highs and lows. FanSided looks back on 2018 and highlights boxing’s best moments and awards its outliers.

With 2018 quickly coming to a close, FanSided takes a look back at the best moments in boxing. It was a strange year in the sport. Boxing’s popularity increased but also experienced numerous setbacks. DAZN stamped its claim on boxing coverage and was a hit with fans, but HBO ended its long history covering the sport after 45 years of dynamic moments in the ring.

There were amazing fights that captivated audiences, and there were others that had a lot of promise but ended up underwhelming spectators. In this slideshow, FanSided celebrates the exceptional and ignores the mediocre. The following slides honor the fights, performances and individuals that excelled in 2018.

We present winners of boxing categories ranging from Round of the Year to Fight of the Year. We also pay homage to individuals whose accomplishments ruled supreme including our picks for Trainer of the Year, Female Fighter of the Year and Male Fighter of the Year.

There were numerous bouts and pugilists worthy of praise, but only one can win each category. We did our due diligence to select the best possible winner for each award.
