Offensive Line. Alabama. Jonah Williams. 3. player. 30.

The New York Jets finished at the bottom of the AFC East in 2018, as they struggled to play consistent football on both sides of the ball. After Week 17, the team decided to make a change at head coach, letting Todd Bowles go after four seasons in charge of the team, and only one winning season.

For Bowles, the end was definitely coming for a while, as there were whispers around the New York media that he was a dead man walking. Now, the Jets need to go out and find their next head coach, and Ian Rapoport reported on Monday that Matt Campbell had already declined the opportunity to interview for the position.

While the Jets only one four games, they do have a bright future, as they have a quarterback who could end up being an All-Pro down the road. Sam Darnold showed flashes of brilliance during his first year as the starting quarterback, and will be a guy the franchise builds around in the coming NFL drafts, and free agency.

When it comes to Darnold, he showed great promise, but he was also hit way too many times. The Jets would be wise to go out and draft Jonah Williams from Alabama with the third overall pick, giving the team an elite, offensive tackle to protect Darnold for at least  the next five seasons. If the Jets want any future, they have to invest in their best asset.
