Buffalo Wild Wings throws massive shade at Philip Rivers

Twitter trolling of professional athletes has become all the rage in recent years, and Buffalo Wild Wings just took a hilarious shot at Philip Rivers.
Big corporations’ social media people are getting more clever by the day, and sports fans get to reap the rewards of their wit. Buffalo Wild Wings is the latest to get in on the fun.
As Philip Rivers prepared for the Chargers’ Wild Card showdown with the Ravens, the Twitter world was getting a good laugh out of his personal life. Just before the 1:00 p.m kickoff, the official Twitter account of Buffalo Wild Wings sent out this tweet.
We’d congratulate LA on its playoff berth, but we’re afraid to use any word that sounds like “birth” around Philip Rivers.

For those who don’t get the reference, Rivers and his wife Tiffany have eight children. And if you don’t think that’s enough, they’re expecting their ninth child this March.
Rivers is known for showing a ton of competitive fire on the field, whether it be in the form of screaming at referees, confronting opponents, or dramatically dropping to his knees after a call. That being said, however, he seems to be a pretty easy-going guy off the field, so he probably won’t be too offended by the wing joint’s good-natured humor.
Rivers and the rest of the offense appeared sluggish out of the gate, putting up just nine points in the first half. Star running back Melvin Gordon left the game briefly with a left knee injury, but returned after a quick trip to the locker room. Three drives have stalled out late, resulting in three field goals for kicker Michael Badgley.

Luckily for Los Angeles, though, the defense has been nearly flawless, recovering a Baltimore fumble and intercepting Lamar Jackson once. Jackson completed two passes for 17 yards in the first half, and the Ravens put up just 69 total yards of offense.
If the second half is anything like the first, Rivers will be able to spend tonight at home celebrating. And, as Buffalo Wild Wings is apparently well aware of, he’ll have no shortage of family to celebrate with.
