It is official. Heisman trophy winner Kyler Murray will enter the 2019 NFL Draft.

In the spring of 2018, Kyler Murray was selected ninth overall by the Oakland Athletics in the MLB June Amateur Draft. The stipulation was that Murray could return to Oklahoma and play football for the Sooners.

After backing up Heisman Trophy winner and first overall draft pick Baker Mayfield, the team was ready to be turned over to Murray. Head coach Lincoln Riley was ready to lead another Sooners team to the college football playoffs with Murray at the helm.

Throughout the season it was clear that Murray had a knack for this football thing. Despite losing his starting running back, the Sooners bulldozed the Big 12 on their way to the College Football Playoffs.

Murray capped off an incredible season with a Heisman Trophy. Just like his predecessor, Murray combined complete command of Riley’s offense with dynamic plays from all over the field.

Oakland’s front office was safely assuming that no matter how well Murray played he would return to baseball when it was all said and done. After all they took a chance on him as a first-round pick and gave him a substantial signing bonus.

No one could have predicted him setting the entire college football landscape on fire. On Monday he made it official when Murray tweeted that he had entered his name into the 2019 NFL Draft.

All eyes are now on the draft. Most predict that Murray will be a first-round pick. If that is the case, here are the five teams that should draft Murray this year.
