The North Carolina Tar Heels have been struggling and look to end their semi-woes on Saturday against the Miami Hurricanes on the road.

Entering conference play, the North Carolina Tar Heels appeared primed for a strong run through the ACC. That, however, has not been the case for Roy Williams’ team thus far. Not only were they blown out by a seemingly inferior Louisville team, but they then struggled against another questionable team in Notre Dame. That takes them on the road to face the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday.

The frustration of North Carolina fans around freshman Nassir Little has reached fever pitch at this point. Not only is an uber-talented youngster coming off the bench, but Luke Maye and the Tar Heels frontcourt is struggling. As such, they could use a big boost at the forward spot. As for the likes of Coby White and Cam Johnson, they must be more consistent.

While that may be true, Miami has been less than expected this season, entering this matchup with a 9-7 record and just 1-3 in ACC play thus far. Chris Lykes and Ebuka Izundu lead the way for the Canes and this team has talent, but NCAA suspensions have affected them in a major way and hurt their stock.

Again, this should be a bounce-back game for North Carolina, but the Notre Dame game should’ve been that as well. How they perform against Miami will be telling about where this team is heading.

This North Carolina team needs to get things going, which may come down to some coaching decisions. In regards to momentum, however, the Tar Heels could use a nice road win in the ACC over a solid team like Miami. We’ll see if a longer rest has helped them out and can lead them to victory in Coral Gables on Saturday afternoon.
