DC Primal Age is a trip to the land before time in this thrilling new 100-page comic that features your favorite heroes (and villain) in the primeval world.

The biggest heroes of the DC Comics universe are donning furry briefs in the newest 100-page comic giant, DC Primal Age. Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman are working to fight evil and protect Paradise Island, all in a barbarian world. DC Priman Age features a 32-page story featuring the Justice League and the Joker from Marv Wolfman, along with five other stories that all take place in this strange new world.

Stories in DC Primal Age are based on a series of Funko action figures of the same name. This super-sized issue is available exclusively at Target and retails for $9.99.

One of the most noticeable things about all six stories in DC Primal Age is that they borrow from He-Man and the Masters of the Universe in that the men are wearing furry boots and briefs. Even the Joker is rocking purple furry briefs. Somehow the furry briefs really helps set the mood as we see beloved heroes fighting evil in a very different world.

A standout story in the book is “Born on a Monday” featuring Wonder Woman and Solomon Grundy. It’s a touching story that starts with a misunderstanding and ends with a revelation about the dangers of being quick to judge. By contrast, “The Joker’s Wild” is a fun story featuring Batman’s nemesis, but it’s a story that turns dark very quickly as we learn that it doesn’t matter which age it is, the Joker will always be the Joker.
