This is a move for the Pistons to take a gamble on a player that seems to have found himself in Steve Kerr’s doghouse. Bell received a lot of attention during the NCAA tournament for his ability to block shots but has struggled in the NBA having to match up against players that are close to if not equal to his level of athleticism.

For the Warriors, they are able to take their former second-round pick, an asset that isn’t getting minutes outside of garbage time, and turn him into a familiar teammate, a large man that can play 15-20 minutes at center for them in the playoffs. The Warriors don’t need to find a true difference-maker at center at the trade deadline, they just need to find someone that they can trust not to make mistakes while DeMarcus Cousins is out of the game. Pachulia knows the system, knows the personnel, and knows what to do in order to help the team secure a championship.

Zaza, welcome back to the bay.
