Kyrie Irving is slated to star in his second feature film. Could his interest in acting translate to another career outside of basketball?

It appears that Kyrie Irving has the acting bug and it seems legit.

The Boston Celtics star is preparing to star in his second film, one based in Oklahoma City. The premise of the film, which is unnamed as of now, focuses on the famously haunted Skirvin Hotel, which has supposedly haunted numerous visiting players while in town for a game, along with all sorts of other guests. Beverly Hills-based Imagine Entertainment will produce the film.

While in “Uncle Drew” Irving had a plethora of fellow NBA players to share the spotlight, in this film, it will be Irving who is the sole athlete. If you, the reader, are wondering why Irving is electing to pursue acting, Imagine’s co-chairman Bobby Cohen has become persuaded that Irving’s talent isn’t solely with a basketball, according to ESPN.

"“When Kyrie is telling us about basketball, or what he wants to do with his life, he comes across as very believable. Even when he’s being a provocateur, like talking about the world being flat, he’s not saying it just to get attention. There’s thought behind it. When he’s on the screen, you can see his mind at work. He’s very charismatic, and you are drawn to his face, and his eyes. I can’t wait to work with him.”"

Irving has already showcased he has an illustrative mind, and his ability to add to his repertoire as an actor will make him one of the most well-rounded public figures in sports. If Irving can build on the success of “Uncle Drew” it could potentially increase his profile in Holywood as an actor to consider for parts. But first, Irving must take care of family business with the Celtics. Because being a winner, and a successful actor looks even better on paper.
