The Tennessee Titans were one of the surprise teams in the playoffs after the 2017 NFL season, as they made it all the way to the Divisional Round against the Kansas City Chiefs. In the game, the Titans had to go into Arrowhead Stadium and knock off one of the best teams in the AFC, which they did, setting the stage for what was supposed to be a successful 2018 campaign.

However, the Titans failed to make the playoffs in 2018, as they lost their Sunday Night Football game at home against the Indianapolis Colts. In a game that would’ve sent them to the playoffs, the Titans came up just short in front of the home fans, and now have a lot of work to do this off-season.

One thing is for sure, they have the right guy under center, as Marcus Mariota is one of the best young quarterbacks in football. On the defensive side of the ball, the Titans could afford to utilize their first round selection on an edge rusher, and Brian Burns from Florida State is definitely a first round talent.

Tennessee has all the makings of a team that should be a perennial playoff contender, but the AFC South is once again going to be loaded in 2019. It will be up to Mariota to prove that he is the kind of quarterback that can lead a franchise deep into the playoffs, and entering his fifth season as the starting quarterback, he has yet to do so.
