The slumping Indiana Hoosiers need a win badly, and they hit the road again to take on the Michigan State Spartans Saturday night.

Indiana has completely collapsed after a 12-2 start to the season, dropping seven consecutive games to fall from a potential top-four seed in the NCAA tournament to the bubble. The latest disappointment was a 66-58 loss at Rutgers on Wednesday, when the Scarlet Knights went on a 22-0 run to grab a lead they would never relinquish.

The schedule continues to be cruel for the Hoosiers, who hit the road for a trip to the Breslin Center to square off with No. 6 Michigan State. The Spartans have had five days to stew after a road loss to Purdue last Sunday, and they will look to take out their frustration on a slumping Hoosiers squad.

Michigan State enters the contest tied for the Big Ten lead with a 9-1 conference record, and this roster feels more like a vintage Tom Izzo team. Even though top talents Miles Bridges and Jaren Jackson Jr went to the NBA, Izzo has built a deep roster led by juniors Cassius Winston (18.5 ppg, 7.3 apg) and Nick Ward (15.6 ppg, 6.9 rpg).

The Spartans are going to have to use this game to continue to adjust to life without junior guard Joshua Langford. ESPN’s Jeff Borzello reported Langford will miss the rest of the season due to a left foot injury.
