The Kansas Jayhawks will look to defend their home court when they welcome the Texas Tech Red Raiders to Allen Fieldhouse on Saturday afternoon.

Things have not been going great for Kansas of late, which enters the contest on a two-game losing streak. Both of those losses came on the road, but it has put the Jayhawks behind the eight ball as they seek their 15th straight Big 12 regular season title.

Kansas enters the day with a 5-3 mark in conference play, the same record that Texas Tech brings into the game. Texas Tech comes into the Phog riding high off an 84-65 win at TCU where guard Jarrett Culver scored 18 points in the victory.

This game is of vital importance to both teams, but Kansas needs to stop the bleeding more right now. The Jayhawks have lost three out of their past four and are still trying to sort out how their rotation will work without the services of big man Udoka Azubuike.

Azubuike is done for the year with a hand injury, putting more pressure on junior forward Dedric Lawson (19.2 ppg, 10.9 rpg) to carry the load for Kansas offensively. The bigger concern for Kansas without Azubuike is on the glass, with the Jayhawks being out-rebounded in each of their last three games.

The biggest factor working in Kansas’ favor is its massive home court advantage. Since Bill Self took over as The Jayhawks’ coach in 2003, they have gone 245-13 at Allen Fieldhouse.

The Jayhawks are 12-0 at home on the season and will be looking to avenge one of those rare home losses in this contest. The Red Raiders were victorious in their last trip to Allen Fieldhouse, scoring an 85-73 win over the Jayhawks on January 2nd, 2018.
