Ranking the top 25 NFL free agents this offseason
By Ian Wharton
7. Le’Veon Bell, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers
The most fascinating storyline of free agency is going to be what happens with Le’Veon Bell. There’s an expectation amongst executives he’ll get near his demands, but that his focus on wear and tear was misguided; teams are going to be more concerned that he turns 27 this off-season than his workload.
Bell’s an elite back who transcends scheme but him sitting out will lead to hesitance for some front offices. Any offer that gets into the third year with guarantees should be considered a great one due to the self-inflicted mistake of sitting all year on top of natural age limitations.
Projected deal: Four years, $58 million
Best fits: New York Jets, Buffalo Bills, Oakland Raiders, Houston Texans, Miami Dolphins, Baltimore Ravens
