The linebacker market is ready for a reset as the top deals have been stagnant for some time. The perfect opportunity is this spring, just as C.J. Mosley becomes an unrestricted free agent. Though the Ravens might tag him, it makes sense to lock him in for the long term.

If Baltimore doesn’t, Mosley will be a valued commodity. His leadership, tackling efficiency, and consistency separates him from most of his peers. He’ll also be just 27 years old as of this summer, making him a great candidate for investment for either a 4-3 or 3-4 defensive front.

Projected deal: Five years, $65 million

Best fits: Baltimore Ravens, New York Jets, New York Giants, Los Angeles Chargers, Oakland Raiders, Green Bay Packers, Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland Browns
