After a lackluster season, John Elway and the Denver Broncos will have to make some decisions this offseason.

From 2012-2015, the Denver Broncos experienced a consistent stretch of success. During that time, the team went 50-14 in the regular season while going to the playoffs each year. Led by Peyton Manning and a stout defense, the team reached the Super Bowl twice, and hoisted the Lombardi Trophy after Super Bowl 50.

Since then, it has been a lot of subpar, losing football that has led to failed expectations. A lot of the questions and blame have fallen to, and on, team president and general manager John Elway.

The Broncos have seemingly been stuck in between either tearing it down and rebuilding, or re-tooling in an attempt to be a contender. Well, based off the team’s regular season record of 20-28 since 2016, contention has been for off.

However, that’s not to say the Broncos don’t have the players or framework to contend. While the team struggled under recently fired head coach Vance Joseph, they still have talent on defense.

Led by Von Miller, Chris Harris Jr. and Bradley Chubb, the Broncos still hold the potential of competing. Their offense has been the issue, specifically the revolving door that has been left at the quarterback position since Manning’s departure.

With a decent amount of cap space this offseason, the Broncos should try and add to their defense in free agency and build their offense through the draft.
