Jim Harbaugh is in favor of the University of Michigan building a statue to honor Tom Brady, one of its most well-known alums.

We all know about Tom Brady’s seemingly unmatchable accomplishments in the NFL. With the New England Patriots, he has won six Super Bowl titles, four Super MVP awards, three league MVP awards, and is a 14-time Pro Bowler.

To sum up, Brady is the greatest quarterback of all time.

What many people often forget is that Brady enjoyed a pretty successful tenure at the University of Michigan, spending his junior and senior years as the starting quarterback for the Wolverines. After all these years, is it finally time that Michigan honors Brady with a statue, either at the Big House or somewhere else on campus?

Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh, a former Wolverines quarterback himself, certainly believes so.

“I think it’s time, don’t you, for a Tom Brady statue to be built right here,” Harbaugh said on his podcast “Attack Each Day” via CBS Sports. “Right in front of Schembechler Hall, or do you put it in the stadium? Where would you put the Tom Brady statue? … The tunnel? Maybe the tunnel? Where do you put it? Maybe some of the listeners can tell us.”

During his senior season for the Wolverines, Brady completed 62 percent of his passes, throwing 16 touchdowns and six interceptions while leading Michigan to a victory over Alabama in the Orange Bowl.

While nobody at the time knew Brady would go on to become the best of all time, his NFL career speaks for itself. If you’re Michigan, it certainly would make sense to honor him with a statue, right? After all, how often do you get to claim that the greatest quarterback of all time is a product of your school?

At 41 years old and fresh off a victory in Super Bowl LIII, Brady is showing no signs of retiring any time soon. Perhaps Michigan is just waiting to see how many more Super Bowl rings he wins before building a statue.
